What to Expect

Worship in the Sanctuary: A roughly 60-minute worship service with singing, responsive liturgy, Scripture reading, a children’s moment, and an uplifting & challenging sermon. When we celebrate Holy Communion, we have an Open Table – and that means EVERYONE – no exceptions – is invited to join in this sacrament together.

We describe ourselves as joyous and caring – and that’s reflected in our Sunday worship and time together. We have traditional worship with a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere – we want all to feel welcomed and loved here.

Worship by the Water: A roughly 45-minute worship service at Sherod Park, looking out at gorgeous Lake Erie. This service is very relaxed and uplifting – we sing songs with our Praise Band, have a children’s moment, read Scripture, and a sermon. When we celebrate Holy Communion, we have an Open Table – and that means EVERYONE – no exceptions – is invited to join in this sacrament together.
All are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, yoga mat, or blanket to sit on! We have some extras in case you forget!

Dogs on leashes are welcome – and we will have a treat for them!

What Should I Wear?

Whatever you feel most comfortable in! Some of our folks are more traditional and will get dressed up – others will be wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Do what feels right for you. We encourage weather appropriate clothes and sunscreen and sunglasses for our outside Worship by the Water service…and if you want to wear sunglasses inside, that’s okay, too!

What About My Kids?

Worship in the Sanctuary: We want your children to feel welcomed and included in worship. Because of that we have a children’s sermon every Sunday that helps explain a simple message of God’s love on their level. After the children’s sermon youth Pre-K – 6th Grade are invited to our one-room Sunday School class. It’s an environment of shared learning and growing, for every age group. We also have a staffed nursery for the younger children and a toddler and family room available for your convenience.

Worship by the Water: We want your children to feel welcomed and included in worship. Because of that we have a children’s sermon every Sunday that helps explain a simple message of God’s love on their level. After the children’s sermon, children are invited to help pass out dog treats and then return to their seats. We have children’s activity bags available every Sunday to help them through the service. Plus – we’re outside and they can stretch their legs if they need to!

What About My Fur Babies?

Dogs on leashes are invited to our Worship by the Water service! We will have a treat for them!
