Wave Crashers (Youth Group for 7th – 12th Graders)
Fall Info & Schedule:
Youth group will be on the 1st & 3d Sunday of the month from 5-6:30. Senior High Hour is for youth 9th – 12th grade who want to discuss topics and issues in their lives and world in light of their faith. Parents will always be informed ahead of time what the topic will be in order to make decisions alongside their youth if that discussion is something they want to take part of. On the 3rd Sunday of the month we will have Senior High Hour from 4 – 5.
Senior High Youth Group: 4 – 5, Coffee & beverages provided, Deeper discussions on topics of youth’s choosing
Youth Group (Wave Crashers): 5 – 6:30, Dinner provided, Activity & Lesson
This will be the schedule for October – December and we will create a new schedule if needed in 2022.
Friends are ALWAYS invited to youth group.
RSVPs are not necessary but it is helpful to let Pastor Allison know in advance if your youth is coming to get the right amount of supplies. We will be outside when the weather permits. Our current Safe Sanctuary Policy requires masks
for those inside the building. Extra masks will be available.
November 2021
Sunday, November 7, 5-6:30PM: Youth Group Party/Board Game Night
We’ll play some party games together like Family Feud and Throw Throw Burrito (prizes for winners!) and then split into smaller groups to play classic board games. Youth are invited to bring a board game that they want to share with the group. We will also have a faith-based discussion.
Sunday, November 21, 4-5PM: Senior High Hour, Discussion TBD
Sunday, November 21, 5-6:30PM: Youth Group Friendsgiving
We will share a family-style meal together and have a conversation around our (socially-distanced) table(s). This is a youth group tradition and a favorite!
December 2021
THURSDAY, December 2, 5-6:30PM: Caroling at Light Up Vermilion
(In lieu of youth group on Sunday, December 5th)
A church-wide goal for all our small groups (and that includes youth group) is to interact with our larger Vermilion community at least 4 times a year. We will invite other church members as well to walk around downtown with us and sing Christmas carols as we go. If you’re worried about not being “musical” come along anyway, bring a friend, have some hot chocolate and enjoy the company and Christmas lights. Details to come on where to meet, etc.

Sunday, December 19, 5-6:30PM: Youth Group Annual Christmas Party!!!
Our annual Christmas party celebration! We will play Christmas themed games, have a white elephant gift exchange (Under 10 dollars! – Talk to Pastor Allison if you need help with this and the church can provide extra gifts), and enjoy lots of Christmas snacks. We will have a faith based discussion as well.
