Patti Pirc
Administrator/Secretary/Treasurer
Patti was the previous Administrative Assistant and Treasurer for the Fireland’s District Office of the United Methodist Church resourcing 73 churches. From 2020 to 2024, she provided communications with pastors and laity, produced the district and mission newsletters, created, and maintained a district directory, took care of financial accounting and budgets, organized district conferences, getting reports to the East Ohio Conference in a timely matter and was responsible for overall office operation management.
As a resident with her husband and family in Norwalk, when the East Ohio Conference consolidated districts and moved the headquarters to Mansfield, she could no longer continue in that position. We feel so blessed that she was available and sincerely excited to learn of our staff opening. While her education and work experience have led her to us, she believes her professional calling is to serve Christ through the Church.
Members of our church including Roger Skelley-Watts, who worked with Patti through church connections to the District Office, provided these comments about Patti: “Excellent communications and customer service skills, multitasking, organized, conscientious, efficient, detail oriented, positive attitude, always looking out for the safety and well-being of others.”
And the following comments are from Patti’s references.
Former Firelands District Superintendent Rev. Doug Lewis:
“She is excelled at working with the people who came into or contacted the district office. She even remained kind and courteous toward those who did not demonstrate that toward her. I was always comforted in knowing that Patti represented the district and conference so well. Patti got her work done effectively and in a timely manner. And if she was not sure how to do something, she had no problem reaching out to others to ask for assistance. She has a delightful and positive presence. I always felt she reflected the joy of the Lord.”
From our current West Plains Assistant District Superintendent Rev. Donna Van Trees
“I worked with Patti in the Firelands District Office from the day she began and witnessed her take command of the job with little orientation. She hit the ground running and didn’t hesitate to ask questions or discover the details of the position. As part of her responsibilities, Patti served as the bookkeeper for accounts payable for all the district funds. She had a good understanding of the various funds and their guidelines. Her accounting was excellent, and her reports were concise and easily understood by the Finance Committee. And in district operations I witnessed several times when she would walk churches through the process of submitting forms and reports, and sometimes complete the forms for them. She also related to all the district committees and gladly provided the needed information to help them complete their responsibilities. I observed Patti going above and beyond her required responsibilities to carry out the work of our district. She never hesitated to fulfill anything that was asked of her.
Personal Statement of Call
I am grateful for having a job that I love and working with good people. I have always listened to God and what he wants for me. I know I am right where I need to be and God’s calling for me is working for Grace United Methodist Church in Vermilion.
